This was a great book. Downloaded onto my new Kindle Fire 7 while in Ireland on recommendation of West Belfast Republican Danny Morrison on Twitter. Fictionalized account of Padraig Pearse' school for boys, St. Endas, in years leading up to 1916 Easter Rising. Provided great deal of historical background & insight into the rising & the Pearse family. However...reader needs to overlook the fact that this book was in no way "publication-ready". Honestly? It was a mess-full of grammatical errors & typos. Sowing on buttons, etc. Aside from that lack of professionalism, it was a very good book & worth the read.Product details

Green Dawn at St Enda Tracey Iceton 9781909077997 Books Reviews
This magical novel breathes to life actual figures of Ireland's Easter Rising of 1916 with great understanding and sympathy. Among these compelling and carefully drawn figures is Patrick Pearse, headmaster of St. Enda's Boys School and architect of the Rising. The novel, however, belongs to William "Finn" Devoy, its ambivalent yet valiant hero. Four years prior to the Rising, twelve-year-old Finn matriculates at St. Enda's. Here he comes of age in the shadows of Irish legends such as his namesake, Finn McCool, and his Irish-American father, a hero of Ireland's quest for home rule. The novel builds dramatically to a resounding and satisfying conclusion as it points forward to author Tracey Iceton's second installment in her Celtic Colours Trilogy.
